Tom Jones apparently passed out in the recording booth during the final note, which may be why the pitch drops slightly at the end. He says he closed his eyes and pushed the note super hard and when he opened his eyes the whole world was spinning.

I'm 36, Welsh (me, not The Stig) and I'm ashamed to say I never knew Tom Jones had done a Bond Theme. What a good one it is, now I need to watch the film again - last time was probably in the 90's!
