My uncle, Walter LaFreniere, served several years in prison for refusing to testify against Jerry Angiulo, he wasn't just my uncle but my best friend, we spent many a night up partying and raising hell, he told me all the stories of what went on, he truly trusted me. You are spot on about FBI and media reports, my uncle had told me almost everything that was reported on him or said by the FBI was nothing more than a fairytale. He took me places where I met many inside people including some of the Angiulo's, Skinny Kazonis among others. He never glorified that lifestyle, in fact quite the opposite, in his later years he often commented that he wished he had never got involved and regretted how it affected his family.
