Jockey Felix De Giles completed an incredible comeback victory at Compiegne after his horse Iceo Madrik came from more than 100 metres behind his rivals to win!

Iceo Madrik was leading on approach to one of the downhill obstacles on the cross-country track before stopping dramatically in his tracks and allowing his rivals a HUGE lead.

But, De Giles refused to give up and chased them all the way round, finishing with a sprint finish to the line!

Glad the horses survived that challenging track

That’s a good example of it’s not over ‘til it’s over.

When they all stopped at the water and were like “WTF is this, we are racehorses”.

As a person raised on 60 years of flat racing, this is nothing short of astounding. I have such respect for the equine ability.

Much respect for the high quality of horseman ship displayed here. The fitness of the horses was correctly gauged also. Very challenging course. Congratulations to the winner and all of the horses.

That was an awesome horse race for spectators. It had everything. Riders lost at an early jump. Horse balks at the water and lost??? Then the patience to not panic and to slowly recover from the balk. The horse easily strides through the 2nd water. Then the push at the finish. You couldn't complain about watching that one.

At 6:47 glad to see the jockeys whipping each other and not their horses and it is one hilarious sight!

I’ve never seen a horse race like this! It’s as though they’re on a eventing cross country course.

All these should be done without the whip.

Great race. Loved the bit where they went into the car park and jumped over 3 Fiat Punto's ....

No wonder horses struggle, that's a mental gymnastic course.

So, horse makes up the gap only to get whipped at the end! 😡 Don’t like this type of race!

That horse must have the heart of a lion. The last furlong looked like he was finishing a 6f race.

I love how the riderless horses just keep running the race the best they can…..lol

Felix de Giles, the jockey on the winning horse, also won the cross country at Cheltenham a few weeks ago- he is a great rider.
