This song describes my best friend and I perfectly! We both struggle with severe mental health issues- I with anxiety, and her with depression. We were both social outcasts before we found one another... everyone else's life seemed to be so perfect and ordinary compared to ours. It was by sheer happenstance that we were paired up for a school project one week- and the more we talked, the more we realized that we weren't insane. She's been my bestie for 5 years now, and I can honestly say, I don't know where I'd be now without her!

This song makes me so happy and so sad. Because, in a sense, all we aspire to be is understood. And when you think of something or feel something so incredibly outrageous and outlandish that you’re sure that absolutely nobody will understand you, the best thing to hear is “I know, right?” So suddenly the world doesn’t feel so big and angry anymore. The sadness comes from how much it sucks to not have someone to hear that from. But the happy part comes from the fact that there’s a song to reflect even that very thing too.
