This is just stupid, you have two walk paths and a beach … that road is paid for by fuel taxes …
When those who walk on it pay for the maintenance on it then will talk …
Also that’s a state route and the city can be sued by the state for blocking a freeway/Highway route …
Especially with van ness being a war zone, 19 ave and the sunset are a cluster … sorry but open it and get over it.

I'm on 48th and traffic is so bad because people are trying to go home and find the quickest way. Since the Great Highway was closed, I've never seen so many reckless drivers in a residential neighborhood. Great Highway already has two walking paths, why are people so greedy to have to take over the artery of the city?

It shouldn’t been open six month ago. What about all the other street? It has been closed for 18 month already ! 19th Ave is road work all day too. Traffic is terrible!

People who want it open don't use it to bike, so your biased in that the only benefit for you is to have it open for you to drive on. But if you used it, you'd realize it's beneficial to the community. It provides a gathering place of culture. It provides a safe place to bike away from cars. The pathway there needs to be repaved, it's hard to bike on. And beyond that, the path is too small for people walking dogs and bikes. The solution is the city needs to build the highway through the city we always needed. Why can't we get Elon to bore a tunnel from daly city to golden gate bridge and build an underground highway through the city? I know the first response is money, but in reality, opening the great highway isn't going to fix 19th traffic and it's not like we don't have money, federal grants. ect. that will help pay for it. 19th ave traffic has been stop and go since lyft and uber started many years ago. We need a real solution to through traffic on surface streets.
