My daughter introduced me to Radiohead when she went to FSU in 1996. I was 42. It was one of the nicest presents I've ever received. Saw this concert on HBO and was instantly smitten. How to Disappear Completely got me thru some rough times. Thamks to the person that shared this tour de force show with us. Xoxo

Radiohead are just a phenomenally good band

I was so thrilled to have been at this show. I live in Austin and happened to be going to France at that time, so I got on eBay (in its very early days) and typed in "France tickets" to see if I could find some cheap plane tickets. I didn't find plane tickets, but I did find tickets to this gig, which was in a ruined Roman amphitheater in the French countryside, in this lovely town that's been settled since the Bronze Age. They were $40 each, about $72 in 2025 dollars. Radiohead just played the show with their monitors behind them; because the Romans had designed the venue so well, that's all that was needed and the sound was perfect. If you ever get the chance to visit Vaison La Romaine, definitely do. The next day there was a huge bazaar, with people selling great inexpensive wine, fresh lavender and lavender products, handmade crafts and wares, etc. We browser there, then toured the ruins (which were amazing), then wandered around town, at which point we figured out that all summer long, every weekend, there was some kind of festival happening - one week there was a jazz festival; the next one an EDM festival; the next one an arts & crafts festival; etc. It was definitely an incredible show in an amazing, lovely town.
