This is an instructional video on how to wax your Barbour jacket. It's also the story behind how Lark got started with Barbour, which is actually very meaningful.

Went to England this summer and bought a vintage (at least 25 years old) Beaufort for £60 in Camden Town. Just re-waxed it, and it has fast become my favorite jacket. Hope to have it for many years to come. Thanks for this video.

Incredible short film. I find that the hand lit stove lends a sentimental glory to the wax shack. The man, a forlorn figure reflecting upon the Canadian landscape, considering the wood of his youth, finds diminutive difference between religion and Barbour coats. The act of re-waxing such an article bring a man closer to the divine than any other human.

Watch this video every year about this time. It sums up the fall aesthetic perfectly. Love it

What a lovely house right at the beginning. That long bench seat is perfect for biguns and littluns alike. I have a mate who is the best fly fisherman I know. He lives in his Barbour jacket most of the winter and gets a superb, even finish whenever he waxes it. Classy little video, thanks for posting.

Awesome video. I understand your passion and being English appreciate your comments.  I went up to Barbour for the 1st time ever on Wednesday as I had promised my loved one a Barbour for Xmas.  It was her 40th on Wednesday so it made sense to drive the 6 hour round trip.

I took my 1991 Barbour Durham there for assessment.  They were amazed at how new the lining looked.  Funny, since it has sat outside for the last 18+ years.

I have just scrubbed it down now and am about to reproof.

It needs about £50 worth of repairs if I want to go that far but I like the used individual look of it.  I will send it up to Barbour to have certain repairs down by them but fancy getting a needle and cotton out and giving it some TLC myself where my skills allow.

I bought a pair of lovely Barbour X Joseph Cheaney Rockingham Boots and a Uist full length jacket when I was there too.  Both will last me for the remainder of my life and at 45 years old, I hope I have a few years ahead of me still.

Thank you, this has been a great help. I've tried rewaxing my jackets but it has ended up being very patchy. Your video is really simple to follow and will help me fix the problem. Cheers mate!

My Barbour Beaufort is going on its 5th year and still looks practically new. Like a good shoe, it needs care and love and it will reward you with years of service - and made in England!!

I love my Barbour Duke jacket in sage and feel so lucky I live 20 miles away from the factory and outlet in South Shields England.

I wore my jacket to work and splashed Bromine chemical on the front, hardly noticable but has small splash stains.

I need to see if Barbour can repair/add sage colouring to fix my jacket.

Fingers crossed!!!

Nice house! shame it's not in the UK!  I have a full length stockman's coat with the caped top for horse riding and walking the dog, had it for about 25 years and only just thinking of re waxing it, few tears in the fabric here and there but I wouldn't wear anything else for country wear, being thorn proof is a big priority. I have had the shorter barbour coats in the past and also the barbour waxed hats, also essential for British rain fall. The full length coat is a Backhouse from New Zealand, cost me over £100 25 year ago, wonder how much they are now.

I was hesitant to attempt waxing my Barbour because I don't live in a cabin in the woods ... turns out an apartment in the city is fine... you also don't need to fry a coffee mug...

The song in this is a looped sample from the song Louisiana Mourning III by Benn Jordan which starts around 2:17 of that song, it's quite fantastic go get a listen of it.

Thanks for posting - your video was very helpful. I waxed my coat for the first time today. I'm pretty sure I'll be hitting it with the hair dryer again tomorrow, as it's pretty saturated.

I bought mine in Chicago and its made in Malasya, after 6 months of actual wear the black turned to dark pink, thankfully it was still in warranty and I got a new one.
