I think Arc 7 is just making Subaru realizes how important he is, when Emilia and the gang eventually rescues him and he learns that they are prepared to go into war for him. I think he himself doesn't think of himself as some kind of Big shot in Lugnica but arc 7 will show him otherwise.

One thing I hung up on in this chapter is that Abel talked about "people in the kingdom" in such a way that implied that he thought Subaru came from there.
Just an implication, and he could have used "the kingdom" as an example for other reasons, but I thought that was interesting..

Fun fact - each Deadly Sin has an animal and a colour associated with it. Envy's colour and animal? Green and snake. Coincidence? With how often these things seem to appear in the last couple chapters, I wouldn't be surprised if it were more than that.
Now that Subaru has survived the trial, I wonder whether he's going to have a reset back to being taken by the Vollachian army, or if his savepoint has been updated to post-trial. Guess we'll have to wait until Tappei can't hold back his urge to torture Subaru some more...

Tappei isn’t playing around. But this comes to show that Subaru can be quite the strategist when he needs to. He also got a ring to help him with attacks too. But the ending though, if he did die than that means Rem will be saved but he’ll have to fight the snake again. I also like the vision, it’s almost like his life flashed before his eyes.
