Gelmerbahn / Mountain Roller Coaster🎢 Funicular / Blue lake / Switzerland Guide

🎢Gelmerbahn, the steepest open funicular in Europe with a 106% gradient, will take you to Lake Gelmer (1850 m above sea level). Helmersee is the starting point for hiking and mountain tours.
The Gelmerbahn lower station is easily accessible both by car and by post bus (bus stop: Handegg, Gelmerbahn). The station is located in Khandegg, right on the road to the Grimsel Pass.

OPERATING HOURS
June, September, October: 9.00 a.m. – 4.00 p.m. (last ascent 3.48 p.m., last descent 4.00 p.m.)
July, August: 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. (last ascent 4:36 p.m., last descent 4:48 p.m.)
PRICES
Adults return CHF 36 / one-way CHF 18
Children 6–15 years return CHF 18.– / one-way CHF 9.–

💡INTERESTING
Gelmerbahn ranks second among the steepest cable cars in the world. First place narrowly belongs to the Scenic Railaway cable car in Australia (128%).
However, given the fact that Helmerbahn passengers ascend to the dam in a completely open car, shaped like a large red staircase and without a roof, protected from falling by a single crossbar, suggests that the Swiss cable car offers a much more refined experience.

Absolutely breathtaking! That lake is incredibly beautiful, I never saw anything like it! I myself couldn’t ride the tram as I’m terrified of heights. When I was little the Ferris wheel I was riding stopped and I was at the top. It began falling apart and fireman had to carry us down. Thank you for sharing this wonderful video with us! ❤️

I think they misunderstood the concept of what a rollercoaster is actually supposed to do. That is just a little tourist train. Taking people up-and-down a mountain, not a roller coaster. Very, very beautiful scenery, thank you.
