Wilson Spin Control Review and Ground Balls

Wilson Spin Control is a great idea but does it actually work? My conclusion is that it does and I'm actually a fan but realistically it will wear down after time and become less effective. It is also important to note that it will never make a bad fielder good. The difference is very very minor. I'd love to see some pros use this at some point.

I bought this glove like 3 weeks ago and played my first game with it and took many groundballs, Honestly although it doesnt make me a better fielder with my movements of course, it actually did make me so much more confident in any ball that was hitting my glove. There were a few balls that I didn’t field cleanly and the ball felt like it really did stick in there. The mental side of this confidence in the glove really actually did make me a better fielder in that sense. So yes i very much see this glove as a plus and certainly was never a negative in my experiences so far.

I bought a spin control a2000 about 3 weeks ago. its so nice, giant upgrade from my previous glovesmith glove.

i have a 2021 Wilson a2000 spin control and i’ve had it for almost a year and the dimples held up pretty well. yea it had worn down a lot but it’s not as bad as i thought it would be. and from my use it didn’t help to much but i felt like it helped in a few plays. like diving for a ball and hard hit balls with a lot of spin

Ground balls slow enough to catch bare handed ain't gonna spin much. Field some worm burners and you might tell a difference

the fact that it’s not more expensive is the part i think is cool it’s makes u a tiny bit better it’s looks cool so might as well buy it if it cost the same makes u the slightest bit better and it’s looks sick

I wonder if this tech would be more effective in softball with a bigger ball/more surface area. Especially with spin being more prevalent in slo-pitch.

If you ever wonder if dimpled leather helps or not, grab a pair of dimpled batting gloves and throw a frisby. It deadens spin in its path. You don't feel it as much in a ball glove because so little of your finger actually works into the glove, but it works. You can take a wire mesh to your glove and get the same effect, just looks a lot crueler.

Wilson really swiped SSK's dimple technology from like 25 years ago and acted like it was new.

In my experience the spin control makes the most impact or difference when using softballs almost like the spin control was made more for the softball material for one and two the larger surface area of the ball rubbing against the glove slows it down faster.

Hey, I love the advice that you give in your videos and I have a question, I have been looking for a glove for third base, I prefer a bigger glove (around 11.75 or 12 inches) what do you recommend?
