I have only smoked 2 to 3 cigars in my 30 years. Wasn’t a fan of the process. Didn’t care for them but was always intrigued by cigars in their historical purpose. Even just the symbolism of what a cigar is, fascinates me. I really enjoy going to cigar café because I like the smell the rich sweet, almost fruit like aroma. Plus all the guys in there are always up for chatting, always friendly and always willing to share their knowledge and information about cigars. Even if you’re not a cigar smoker, I recommend checking out a cigar café or cigar bar whatever it’s called.

Question: Won’t cutting an angle on the cigar make it burn unevenly? I think I must’ve just sucked at lighting but it’s happened to me three times.

I also prefer the straight it for these cigars. It allows for maximum air flow without having to cut to deep

First off, he has a torpedo shaped cigar. Torpedo describes the shape of the whole cigar not just the top or cap. A pyramid cigar is actually shaped like a pyramid with a wide foot and the whole cigar tapers to a narrower (pointedl
cap. The cutting of just the tip was done for dramatic affect. He could have made the straight cut where he started the angled, or cuban, cut and exposed more tobacco. The angled/cuban cut is suitable mostly for torpedo shaped cigars. The most important thing to be careful of with any cut is cutting pass the bottom of the cap, this can lead to the cigar unraveling because there's nothing holding the wrapper in place other than possibly the band. The con of an angled cut cigar is the higher probability of an uneven burn.

I disagree. You don’t need to cut it at an angle at all. Keep it straight.

Is there a reason why you are angling side to side and not top to bottom? On a non-box pressed, it doesn't matter, but on box pressed... 😬
