We cannot have freedom of religion unless it is kept out of government. It is the government, specifically the Republicans, who are overstepping themselves now. We are not a theocracy and the founding fathers never intended us to be a theocracy.

I hope I said this correctly; if not, my apologies ahead of time. My thought was that some of the people of England ( the Quakers) escaped to get away from the King's rule and to be able to practice their religion. The Founding Fathers made it clear we have freedom of religion but did not say a specific religion. So, as Americans, we can freely follow our faith. So I believe the government is instructed to stay out of religion and the courts had already decided on this years ago. But now that the Supreme Court is what it is, the right Christian Nationalists believe this can all be changed and force people to their religion which in my opinion has nothing to do with Jesus's teachings. I'm sticking with you Father David no matter what happens and pray for the children who are being indoctrinated.

Thank you again for your wise words, Father! As I recall in history class as a young pup, we were told about separation of church & state. We, as Americans, are a cultural melting pot. You have Christians, Catholics, Jews, Muslims, & other various religions that all live here. Who's to say that the government can cram any particular instrument down someone's throat "in the name of Jesus!" From my learnings, Jesus welcomes all peoples! Jesus was also the Prince of Peace.
