I love this excerpt, so cool, a great example of musicianship and groove. Actually I have been listening to it more than once every day for a week or more. So deceptively simple and obvious, I have been trying to do the same (improvise this relaxed way on the Parkerian blues changes) for a long time now and it is not easy at all !!

and check out Mike Longo 4 DVD or online series - on rhythmic nature of jazz

there is no one since, that embodied the Bebop spirit of Diz and Bird

Mike was a disciple of Diz and his method reflects his deep absorption of this language
