Synopsis:

I've seen too many Chinese dramas where the guy cheated (either emotionally or physically) or too hung up on his ex until the female lead leaves him and the lead always takes the guy back at the end by making it seem like it's "true love"
What are these dramas trying to teach women by creating these plots? How to be doormats?

He only married this girl to please his mom, he was still seeing the mistress throughout the marriage and the wife knew about it. The wife was hoping he would give up mistress and when he didn't she left.
I don't like the ending. The wife finally got her life together and was successful with her new life, so why did she take him back knowing that he will go running whenever mistress calls him. This culture, society, family thing cause so much unhappiness and hatred in the world.

This is the best example of the worst husband, where for him his wife has no value, at no time do I love her and why does he want to be with her. The best ending was for her to stay with her daughter alone and someone would arrive who truly loved her and made her happy.

For me the script writers got this so RIGHT. He treated her so badly, until she said I've had enough and divorces him. Meanwhile his Mistress has moved on and he is on his own. Even his mother agrees she didn't treat her DIL well. And now she is standing firm and well not accept him back. I think what is missed in these episodes is the length of time that goes by and she still won't have him back and why should she ? For once the script is correct or the writers are females. Well done it is such a good feeling seeing Asian women standing proud and this series has it all.

Sadly, this is not an isolated story. There are tens of tens of thousands of us exactly in her situation; facing a coward begging for forgiveness, not understanding, in the least why once trust is gone, it's gone. It's another reason why she shouldn't take him back; his lack of understanding of what he did to her. He was and frankly is, a cheater; dishonest, disrespectful, and disgusting in his berating of her.

Okay but here's the thing love isn't eternal and a given: he cheated and put her down many times before. So what if he loves her now? Why should she care? She should have stayed single because she should put herself first. And what bothers me more than anything is the harassment of many Male lead is protait as a good thing. If she says no is a no, don't go encouraging this this because of "love" or because they are married there are lines that shouldn't be crossed

I don't have a problem with couples getting back together after a split like this. My problem with this particular relationship is that they were never really together. It seems they are always on different pages of their story.... And whatever limited feeling developed between them was not powerful enough to overcome the deep-rooted and extensive personality flaws, especially on the part of the husband.

ZouKai needed to work very hard to fix his own inter-personal relationship problems, mend his wife's broken heart, regain her trust in him, make up himself to be a real husband in her heart. This should be a long way to prove he qualified.
