I love the less is more concept! I use a slightly damp microfiber towel with water to wipe down my dash & the many delicate silk screened lettering everywhere on the dash panels & controls, works flawlessly. Cleaners can remove the lettering if not careful.

The water isn't necessarily "dissolving" the dirt - the dirt is simply being transferred from the surface to the cloth via a mechanical process - it doesn't have to dissolve in order for that to occur.

Never, ever use microfiber on MB Tex. According to MB, it abrades the Tex surface.

I always use a damp towel to clean my steering wheel, works great and still looks new and has a nice matte look.
Harsh chemicals, brushes and melamine pads will damage your leather after a while.

I’ve noticed really bad steering wheel filth on females cars .... it’s actually not filth but make up and foundation etc... you’ll see it’s different to normal dirt if you look closely. It’s the morning rush that does it. Gear knob... steering wheel... visor hotspots.
