Is XDefiant Worth Your Time?

I really do not get the hype around this game. It feels stiff, dated and lifeless and something not indicative of the quality we should expect from a Billion Dollar Studio.

IMO, the pro:
1. Free
2. System requiment are resonable. You dont have to buy a new SSD just to store the game
3. Gun play is fun and the map is interesting
4. Ubi going to support it so I don't worry to be pull the rug under me
The cons:

I think people like the game because it feels like an older COD and the more recent COD games dont feel like COD. COD COD COD. but seriously COD is nearly unenjoyable for people that enjoyed the og MW, WaW, BO1 etc.

I get your criticism but Xdefiant clearly isn't trying to be this, crazy innovative, groundbreaking, visually stunning experience. It's just trying to be a simple fun casual shooter specifically targeted at OG CoD fans who just don't care about all the fluff and just want to play a game that works. Going into the game with those expectations, I think the game is great.

I think this is the best cod like shooter we'll likely get. When this game fails, people are going to ask why all the while forgetting that they were the problem. This game feel like old cod in almost every regard. It's almost on par to something like black ops 2 yet there are so many who expect the game to be like mw19 or mw23 when that will never happen. It isn't that the game is bad, it's that the expectations of the average cod player are so delusional

Does anyone else also feel like the damage model is off? Like ive shoot a guy like 5 times they snap and melt me, and it says they still have like 45hp. Or like you've shot someone with an AK and 2 shot them? Something just doesn't feel right. The game just reminds me of Warface

The hit reg and desync being the exact same as it it was during the first test is both mind blowing and not at all surprising at the same time.
And I still stand by my first statement about the game. It feels like Gotham City Imposters. But that game played in to the imposter syndrome and went with it. XDEFIANT is so focused on mimicry of "the good old days" and doesn't do anything special and misses on a lot of things that should have been the focus. The gameplay feels old. The map design feels old. The abilities feel old. And it's not that they're inherently bad, just not up to a modern standard or as stand out as it should be.

I think it gives me a feeling of how gaming used to be. Fun. Often an expression of skill. I can move and shoot my way out of a situation against worse players. It's just a good goddamn time. It's good on the mosue, it's responsive. I'm 35. It makes me nostalgic for the simpler times.

As feedback, you could reflect more on why it has hype, why it has ex-cod players excited

It's a turn your brain off shooty game, a good side game imo. As someone who never plays shooters anymore and prefers other genres of games, having a brain off shootfest game I can log into once a week and play a few matches of to get the fps fix when that itch comes is cool, currently the only shooter I have installed on my pc and don't really see myself uninstalling it rn.

I honestly love it. No crackhead movement like Cod which makes it much more accessible and its a f2p game with crossplay so i can play with my consol friends. I get why others dont like it though.
