In this video I show 2 really hard working garbage men doing what they do. I was tired and sore just watching them, and that because I was only on my bike. My appreciation for blue collar workers was raised to new level after following these guys around for 10 minutes. Thanks for watching.

Hell yes !!!
Running, Balls out !!!
everyday for 34 years. No matter the Weather !!
Got paid for 8 hours even when we finished the route in 3 or 4, which was pretty much everyday.
What an adventure I had.
Organized Kaos at high volume !!
A finely orchestrated Ballet.

Been a garbageman for a year and a half. No doubt that even moving at a reasonable pace your body is going to wear down. Even more so when you do it the way these guys do. But at the same time you're going to put on a lot of muscle. It's the one job i've have had where I have great pride in doing what I do.

That's a great team of throwers on the back of the truck...alot of people see us riding the back, and think we are stupid, but usually the people judging can't physically do it...they don't show were we walk up and help the elderly by running up and grabbing there trash, or a customer just had surgery so we help em out

I remember when I use to do this I did 850 cans in 6 hours and 639 cans in 4 hours and 30 mins by myself I got a reward by my company loader of the year and then got pinned between a dodge caravan and the rearloader and lost my legs I miss that job but imma return as a driver

That is very impressive, as a garbage man myself. All I would like to see is them putting the wheelbin back on the boundary line in the right position and it will be spot on

I'm thinking of getting into the trashman biz as a 21 year old. Kinda confusing trynna find postings here in Indiana but honestly I just wanted to hang off the truck and feel like I was in mexico with the air flowing through my hair.
Biggest reason is I can't smell (non-rona related) and I'd imagine it's a job that would keep me in shape n shit. Plus it's like for the community so I'd feel better about myself... i'd imagine.

Im a garbage man for 17 years in Montreal, those are the reasons we do this job at this speed

1- first reason, our job is a passion, we love it

2- we see this job not like a work, but a training even a sport

3-experience, in general, the more you do the same thing the better is your efficiency

4- it’s fun! It’s like a spartan race everydays!

For those who want to know we run 5 to 10 km a day. And we lift 8 to 13 tons of garbages in our route.

*for the comment who said their bodies are going to wear down fast…
I take my first vacation after 15 years. Îm 41 years old now, still in shape, only had to stop 1 week for a contusion knee injury.

Yup!! Why no one likes to cover my route whenever I go on vacation or call in sick. I’m not lucky enough to have another person with me so I’m doing my route solo. The up side is I get my cardio workout everyday 😁👍🏽 TEAMSTERS LOCAL 350 Recology of South Bay

I’ve been doing this for 8 months now it’s pretty fun besides petty management at the gfl company I work at. They love to nitpick on everything especially the customers when you tell them you can’t take something to throw away for them cause I’m not contracted by the city to take some types of waste. As long as you don’t complain and treat people nice and just work and do your job and work at a fast pace you can hold you’ll be ok. I usually pick up 18 to sometimes 23 tons especially in these summer months in about 6 to 7 hours a day. Great fun job to be a trash man just petty management makes the job kinda sucky and customers getting upset over a singular water bottle being left in their can 😂
