Why is this Terraria event so forgotten? In this video I go look at the history of the Frost Legion event and why it has been forgotten over the past decade.

I wish this event got some TLC, it's a cool idea. First off there's no reason this needs to be a hard mode event, it feels like an early pre hardmode thing like the goblin army, and in hard mode it could get some additional enemies spawning. I wish there were some actual drops too, like the snowman gangster could drop his tommy gun, and that could be an early game machine gun

I feel like this event 100% needs an update, potentially adding weapons that are dropped from the snowmen, tommy gun, etc

Simple answer: No unique drops worth farming.
It's this sort of tedious event that's cute for about five seconds, and then you realise that it's just going to waste your time and you have to clean up all the snow blocks the snowmen leave behind on top of it.

The Frost legion was actually the event I farmed just to cool off after a hard task. It provides absolutely no benefits aside from adding more to my already copious collection of snow blocks, but it’s so easy that it’s actually really calming to do.

The snowman gangster should drop his gun, the stabby snowman should drop his stick and the balla should drop a mage weapon that's basically a prehardmode ice rod

thorium mod has reworked this event very well imo, the snow globe was made into a craftable item that can be made almost as soon as you enter hardmode, and the enemies have several weapon drops including the tommy gun that acts as the mods own version of the uzi practically (fires hi velocity bullets rapidly) and all these combined make it a event worth playing

I love mr staby. His ai isn’t to simply stab you, but to also stop momentarily to stab into the air in a threatening way.

Couple of drop ideas

1. A Tommy gun that is similar to the uzi
2. A whip that looks like a snow man and Inflicts Frostburn or some other effects
3. Snowman pet
4. A vanity item that is the snowmans top hat and pipe
5. (Not a drop) Add in a boss. Even a giant snowman would be better than what there is now
6. Some sort of accessory. Maybe a jetpack that shoots out snow? (Ran out of ideas)

Bit late to this one, but just thought it would be kinda cool if there was a summon weapon that could drop. Imagine your own army of snowmen with all the different guns and stuff. Would be so good.

I spawned it in pre Hardmode through TEdit and made it as large as possible on Monday. I'm still fighting them 💀

I can definitely agree on it's absence. There might be some cool drops but not any that i could think of. I even thought it was called the Frost Moon.

For some reason, defeating the frost legion somehow necessary enough for gameplay that it constitutes an achievement. The achievement, if I recall correctly, is called "Do you want to slay a snowman?"

Here’s what I think the Frost Legion should drop. Also I think it should be where it drops the weapons at the end of the event:

-A material for a sword for crafting the Zenith (maybe combine it with Spooky Wood and Souls of Night and call it “Black Ice”)
-A material to combine with flurry boots where it increases walk, flight, and fall speed and acceleration (maybe call it “Hailstorm Boots”)

I dunno, it’s been a long time since I played vanilla Terraria, but I do play Calamity so any tweaks would help.

Black Ice (Terra Blade Sword Material Concept)
Functionality-
Basically Terra Blade with a homing blade. When the blade hits, 3 additional blades appear and attack the target. Inflicts Frostburn and Confusion on hit.

Crafting-
50 Spooky Wood
30 Souls of Night
1 North Pole
1 Sky Fracture
5 Snowglobe Shards (1 dropped at end of each event, like Old One’s Army)

Hailstorm Boots (Expert Only)
Functionality-
Allows any wings equipped to hover for an indefinite amount of time. Taking no damage increases your damage output over time, up to 50% after 10 seconds of no damage taken.

Crafting-
1 Flurry Boots
1 Blizzard in a Bottle
1 Frost Core
15 Souls of Might
5 Snowglobe Shards

I'd love to see this event get overhauled, along with a Halloween equivalent. Maybe extending the post invasion holiday period as well to get a higher chance of the spawners dropping, or better yet an artefact to allow you to toggle holidays, with the invasions coming randomly.

I wouldnt have an issue with it not droping much pre hardmode but i think it would be awesome to have some hardmode updates like an exclusive boss, armor/weapon or vanity items

If u dont want to destroy your snow biome and want to build with snow/snow bricks this event is not as bad, but santa claus dont sell any good items
