I’m concerned because an Medicare insurance agent that another family member suggested to us asked us to sign this paperwork before we had our 1st discussion. The paperwork had nothing filled in but our signatures. I didn’t put up a fuss because he was a friend of my relative and didn’t want him to be offended. Is this a normal procedure ?? He said that it keeps him from getting sued or something like that.

When you first start selling Medicare, you are suppressed by their "training." Videos like this one show you what you can say to people if you want to be totally honest.
One more thing: Cancer policies or policies that cover stroke or heart attack result in a lower out of pocket expense, and can be good patches for the lacks in Advantage Plans.

Thank you, Matthew for all your videos! My husband’s former employer switched all Medicare eligible retirees into a Medicare advantage PPO run by the same insurance career that administers the health insurance program for active employees. Of course they said it would be the just as good as original Medicare, blah blah blah. We were confused but after watching your videos we know that these advantage plans offer NO ADVANTAGE to the patient and he’s going to opt out of that program at his first opportunity and go with original Medicare and Tricare for life - that’s as good as it gets and that’s what I have. Your Tri-Care for Life video was excellent and opened my eyes to what a jewel it is! Thank you, again!

I especially liked the discussion about sales commissions for medicare supplements vs. advantage plans and how agents may push the advantage plans. Also, the comparison of the level of coverage between supplements vs. advantage plans.

Thank you again, Matthew. As with the other 3 videos I have watched, you are very transparent and seem to be genuinely concerned with the best interests of your clients. That is very, very refreshing to see, especially in the all to often dog-eat-dog business world. God Bless you in your work of educating and helping Medicare clients!

Excellent video. Amazingly candid.
Question: I live in Connecticut. Am I better of with a local independent agent, or can an agent anywhere in the country provide equal service?

This is an excellent video and I’ve been watching many of your programs. Just wish I’d seen these a few months ago. We’ve had a very confusing experience with a broker recommended by a friend, but now we think our friend might not know so much about Medicare after all. Anyway we were so unhappy to learn (by our own research) the broker had us with a carrier that had only been doing Medicare supplements since 2020. It was cheapest but we didn’t care just about price. He didn’t seem to agree about the qualms we had when we called him back, but he got us signed up with a different company WE trusted. And now we don’t trust him that much. It has been a mess to change again. We definitely made some mistakes in not knowing the right questions to ask the broker. My question is: if we decide in a year to change from Plan G to Plan N, do we have to call that same broker or are we free to choose a different broker like you? We are both very healthy, so medical underwriting would be fine. Thank you!

I have watched several of these videos and they have been very helpful to me. I had no idea where to start when I retire next June. A lot of people I talk to can’t seem to give me any help. So thank you for these videos. I plan to retire in Florida and expect that I will be calling you guys soon.

Thank you for your helpful videos. A question, would applying for social security affect choices in selecting Medicare coverage in any way. I am 65 and will be signing up for Medicare very soon. I still work & currently have health coverage through my wife’s employer. So I may soon apply for Social Security benefits. Thoughts? Thanks much!
