T304 step 10.2 states "strike off excess heaped fine aggregate from the cylindrical measure by a rapid single pass of the spatula". "Rapid" is not defined, and I have seen this done with such speed that it actually scoops material below the rim of the measure, leaving it looking about like yours does after you tap to settle the material before you move the measure. I have argued with the lab personnel that this is improper, but I'm getting pushback. Could you give me a definitive opinion? (is "definitive opinion" a thing?)
