Is that rain?
Or are you crying again?
Would it be the same if I could
Hold you my friend?
And know it’s hard to be alone
A soul with no face is a lonely embrace
I know it’s hard
I know it’s hard to be alone

Now there’s clouds
Between us all
And the road ain’t so clear
But we still walk or crawl
I know it’s hard to be alone
A soul with no face is a lonely embrace
I know it’s hard
I know it’s hard to be alone

Oh so little
Come to me now
I wanna hold you
In any way I know how
We’re flying now with the powerful owl
I’m gonna hold you
In any way I know how

Is that rain?
Or am I crying again?
A soul with no face is a lonely embrace
I know it’s hard
I know it’s hard
But you ain’t gonna be alone

My wonderful husband of 21 years just began hospice care after a 3-year battle with cancer. I have been his #1 fan, nurse and cheerleader the entire time. Now, I know the end is getting closer. When I wake in the middle of the night I move close to feel his heat and hear his breath. Tonight, I gave up on sleep and pulled out the laptop...and stumbled on this song...and cried.

Lawd ha MERCY! That whiskey voice soul sound would do Otis proud. Hard to believe he’s Australian and not from the Delta blues southern US!

I feel like COLORS deserves an Emmy nomination. No one else is exposing young people, or just people in general, to this level of raw, eclectic artistry. Media outlets are so set on making sure certain people only hear certain music. No wonder everyone is stuck in a spiritual rut. Music is spiritual.

You can hear the southern whiskey raspiness in his voice. This is a country boy raised on the soul.

My dad’s favorite band was the Rolling Stones, but he had a broad love of music and loved all that stuff like Otis Redding and Al Green. He grew up in the greatest time for music, and handed down a love of it to me and my brother. I wish he was still here so I could play the Teskey Brothers for him. I know the reaction it would get, you could see in his face as he’d look away, lost in the music, that it was taking him to another place and time.
