Hey JP!

Thanks again for sharing your efficient methods and clever ideas!
The handle, clamping pads and especially the threaded steel rod for reinforcement are all very useful. Obviously, that steel rod withstands a great deal of force as demonstrated by your unique apple-press! ;-)

I like the simple drywall screw for fast adjustment with a drill too!

A+++!!!

Thanks. I did that fast adjustment on a much earlier clamp version and thought it would be very useful on this one.

That is sensational. I'm amazed at how much pressure the clamp can withstand. Thanks for sharing.

John, thanks for all those video. I am the beginner and I do appreciated for your time of showing us how to do things. I wish I pay attention in woodshop. Have a great day John and many thanks! (from Thailand)

Thanks. By increasing the thickness of the frame and using 3/8" rod for the "backbone" it would be even more. As it is, I'm satisfied.

Yes, that works and I've done that as well. This way is quite a bit less "high precision", but gets the job done very quickly.

The advantage of this clamp is it's depth.

No doubt you have.
Best to look at these video as entertainment, and not as instruction.

I was too, actually. I thought it would break. Not the strongest clamps but certainly good for holding stuff down or light glue-ups.

There is a link in the description to a blog entry I did on this subject.
Basically, inexperienced viewers should take the time to learn how to use a saw safely, not just grab one and start doing what they see me do. This should be a given and no disclaimer is needed.
If I do a video of me driving around in my truck, should I post a caution saying that the viewer should learn to drive before attempting this, since it's dangerous if he doesn't?

That was an old open grid assembly table I made a long time ago. I no longer have it, but will be building something similar soon.

As a general rule, bar clamps are not as strong a C clamps. Bar clamps are faster to adjust.

Well, you're right about one thing...
So long, now. Don't let the door hit you on the way out!
