Consequences of Michigan's no-fault reform

Reform of Michigan’s no fault auto insurance law, which passed in 2019, was hailed as a way to finally lower people’s exorbitant premiums. While many have seen thousands in savings and many others await $400 checks from their insurance companies, there have been some unintended consequences. Those who have been injured in catastrophic accidents were previously fully covered in their treatment, but what’s happening to them under this new law, according to those involved, is being called a humanitarian crisis.

I can see this mans point. But i think the bigger point is very few even have insurance in michigan because it is so expensive. Thats why we have these insurance companies next to every sec of state office, so people can pay for a months worth of insurance just to be able to renew their license.

Lived in many states, you only see this in michigan. Huge problem.

What is the point is having no limits no fault insurance that noone can, or hardly anyone can afford?

My insurance rates are probably about 5 times higher than in any of the 6 other states i have lived in.

This is sad but I don't think I should be responsible i deserve that 400 refund I been paying high insurance. This needs to be taken up with the doctors and insurance health insurance Carriers about the cost of charges they charge

Unintended consequences? Not so sure of that statement. DOJ should investigate this! These people paid their dues and are owed the care they paid for. If all contracts are made to be broken, then NOTHING is sacred. These victims are being denied the right to survive and thrive.

The Governor needs to re-work the auto insurance for those who need help. Those $400 checks will be blown in a week.

The reason that they are refunding money is because the fund has a major surplus the last time the fund was over funded they rebated people. There shouldn't be any reduction in payment for services to victims. If they could refund drivers before without cutting benefits they can do so now.

The new no fault legislation was created during a midnight session . Originally our catastrophic care was to be grandfathered in but they rewrote it and screwed over so many people . My insurance company will only pay 65% of medical care . Also limited the amount of hours you can receive to recover . The caregivers employers are only getting 65% of what they used to get paid . Professional therapists were told they had to accept a reduced hourly pay or they couldn’t work . This is wrong to limit our care when we paid for the lifetime catastrophic coverage . We need to create a class action lawsuit if the no fault auto law doesn’t change quickly . It is just cruel to severely limit the quality care that is needed to help people get through their injuries. My accident was caused by somebody texting and driving . Clearly not an accident … just distracted driving so I’m left with lifetime injuries and no therapy . I have one therapist left. weekly appt that I’m told my insurance is denying payment so it won’t be long before I’m completely without care. Come on people ….

After people get saved, they get baptized in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.
It isn’t a requirement for salvation, but it is something that God wants us to do after we are saved.
