When he figured he couldn’t go back, he didn’t stop because he knew this research would be useful. He gave up on saving his father but continues to make him proud and further science. Salute

Honestly this story sounds pretty damn wholesome. A grieving kid tries to save his dad, eventually realizes that his dad is at peace and instead uses that goal as a dream

This man would literally bend time and space to save his dad's life. The love that the father must have had, he has be proud

I spent a year 9 physics lesson thinking about black holes bending time and making time travel, now I'm obsessed with anything to do with it. Great video!

God damn that is so heartbreaking and tragic. I know how it feels to be pushed to extreme desperate measures by grief. His dad would be so proud

Saving his dad is the classic paradox. Without him we get time travel, with him, we have a young boy loved by his father without the need of time travel to save him.

In all seriousness, he’s doing an amazing job, and it’s actually necessary. Things have to be researched to be invented, and if we want to progress our technology, people like him are the exact people we need. Even if all his work seemingly ends up doing nothing, it makes the path to making the technology a reality that much closer by guiding us away from the wrong path.

And if you think that time travel is a complete science fiction idea, just realize what it’d be like to give someone living only a century ago a smartphone. The technology they’ve seen is nothing like this, and the amazement it’d give them is likely indescribable. Go back an extra 50 years and their reactions would be even more intense. And for them, it’s not even science fiction, it’s an idea they’ve never even likely thought of. My point is that majority of the smart technologies we have today we thought to be impossible before, so why would time travel be any different?

Bro went from “I’ll save my dad!” To “my dad will be proud of me for what I’ve already accomplished.”

Even he could have went back to 1955, saving his father would have caused a time paradox.

"I went back in time and saved my father from dying"
"But your father isn't dead"
"Exactly."

This is the most based man in the world honestly. I’d do the same

He’s creating a canon event while being in the canon event. That’s canonically mind blowing.

My belief is time travel can only be viewed from the 3rd person. Sort of like watching it through TV, but instead with your eyes. I don’t we can go back in time, walk around and explore. But more as if we can view moments from afar and observe.

I lost my father when I was very young too. For a while I also dreamed of building a time machine to get him back. My heart goes out to this dude. I know how he must have felt.
