We are racing the flood on BeamNG Drive, however our vehicles get an upgrade at the end of each race. As we battle each other our cars get gradually crazies but can anyone actually make it to the top?

I always love how in the upgrade races you'll say something like "Suspension would be good" and then 20s later it's always "so I've got a TON of power now"

"I haven't got the acceleration of the Lada". I don't think I've ever heard that sentence before.

"And we slightly murdered Amy"
Gee, it sounds soo much nicer that way.

_"Tonight, the flood is coming, but we need to wait for a bigger engine and acceleration power! This is FailRace, where it's Race The Flood time on BeamNG, so expect to see:_
* 8:17 _"Shadow has an internal blowout._
* 16:33 _"Impega races with an improvised spoiler._
* 22:31 _"And Alex.... eats a bridge."_

I swear the biggest threat on this course wasn't the flood, it was Impega!

This was a fantastic idea! I loved it.

...now to go watch Amy's video to see what her reaction to Alex's blatant unprovoked violence was like!

The 1000 IQ play is to select a boat and then simply wait

If you do this again I'd keep the point system. Under the original premise there was literally no benefit to finishing first unless you could make it to the top and there was a double penalty. Technically that means you can make your car practically undriveable with your initial upgrades, ensuring you continue to get upgrades and good track position in subsequent rounds. With a points system there is some incentive to keep the car manageable throughout.

Imo, this is a much better version of survive the flood. Probably better for filming as well, 'cuz you can just set and forget the flood rising speed and just upgrade the cars until someone can beat the flood to the top? Idk, feels like it should be easier to film 😅

This would make a great stream. Racing followed by chatting and upgrading cars

Well, we know who Amy is killing in the next demolition derby.

power is not always the way to go, control on this track would be a better thing to go for, i reckon 400hp with way more control would have been better upgrades

probably the best race the flood to date

The trick in this mode was clearly to come second every round. You should have Zylus from the Yogscast on as a guest - he'd be really good at that.

As someone who quite enjoys hillcilimb statistically speaking most of you make somewhat correct modifications, but the problem you all make is just shoving power in like that's somehow going to make you faster, the reality is wheelspin and air time actually slow you down, the bouncing and sliding is the problem and most of your solutions where just ridiculous, now I understand some of them where made because it was funny but at the end round I was kind of expecting more serious modifications, Suspension that allows for more wheel contact, removing wheel arches and allowing more body travel, upgrades to aero and acceleration, and counter intuitive in some sense but putting more weight on, the thing is, with hill climbs they reduce their weight significantly but replace that weightloss with aero too keep the car stable, just, kinda sad that their weren't more genuine attempts, that aside however very fun race, very silly and a great lot of fun to watch! (In case anyone was curious as to what I mean above, when it comes to hill climbs the thing they are aiming for is basically a time attack, time attacks are normally a measurement of your average speed not your highest speed, this means in track cars and hillclimb modifications the overall goal to be faster up a hill is to get a higher average speed, including better cornering, better acceleration, better rough terrain speed, better elevation dampening etc. for example the average speed of Fail Race actually went down after the 650hp modification not up because the car was less controllable and couldn't keep its power down a more sensible change would have been the suspension upgrade like he pondered prior to the ECU that and better Aero would have resulted in a better overall vehicle that averaged a higher speed throughout the track rather than just in the smoother straights which make up a rather small portion of the track)
