I love my S-1 so much, I couldn't resist getting the T-8 too. The S-1 is truly an SH-101 on steroids, shrunken down.... I have no doubt that when the T-8 arrives in a few days, it will be equally impressive. This is coming from somebody who's owned and played more than a few other vintage analog Roland machines.

Does the sequencer have a way to transpose to incoming MIDI notes? If not and you have a contact at Roland, please ask them to implement it. The sequencer in my Boutique JP-08 doesn't do that and that really stinks - programming the same sequence into several patterns and then manually switching between them just doesn't hack it.

I'm always impressed by how good this little box sounds, but I'm torn any it because I got rid of my Volcas because I got sick of using those tiny little controls. But then again, for my purposes the S-1 seems like it's a huge step up from the Volca Keys in terms of being a useful, practical studio tool, so maybe the tiny knobs are a small price to pay. Insert tiny knob joke here.
