Alan Phillips, owner designer and builder of Carol-Ann Amplifiers, talks through the features of his latest creation the Triptik 2.

In this video, Alan is playing a Brondel & Thornton Nowcaster guitar with Old Growth Nootka Cedar (Trees were between 700 & 1200 years old when harvested) and Ron Ellis Custom Wound Pickups, through a Vovox solid core cable into a Carol-Ann Triptik 2 100w amp head with a Catalinbread Echorec plugged into the effects loop of the amp. The speaker cabinet used is a Longhorn Amps vertical 2x12 with one Celestion G12H Creamback and one Celestion G12 Classic Lead 80 speaker. Each speaker was mic'd with Tul G12 microphones.

Brett Kingman's Presets for the AXE FX III for the Triptik and Tucana are some of my favorites especially the Clean.

It's a shame that Alan decided to shut the doors on building amps. He truly made some great sounding stuff. My Tucana 3 is one of my favourite amps to play, no matter how many neighbours have to hear it. 😄
