Small Hydro Project Analysis with RETScreen - Case Study/Run of River

This video demonstrates how to perform a RETScreen Analysis using Method 2 for a 500 kW run of river type of hydro project in Ontario, Canada.
The projects is based on a real world situation with cost data that is pertinent as of 2013. This demo will walk the viewer step by step through each of the screens (Start, Energy Model, Emission Analysis, Costs Analysis and Financial Analysis tabs) and will provide in-depth background information on each of the input fields but also on many of the calculated fields. This is the type of case study that are provided in the various courses given by the clean energy institute of GPEKS.
The full Hydro course also includes comprehensive case studies on other type of hydro projects such as:
- Run-of-river High head (over a MW of capacity)
- Reservoir (Dam) with larger multi-megawatt capacity
- Hydrokinetic Project on Isolated Grid (Megawatt scale)
- Wave Power Project Analysis using one of the most mature technologies to date
The Clean Energy Institute offers courses and programs that can lead to certification as a project analysis in small/emerging (also called low impact) Hydro Power.
We also provide custom workshops and curriculum development on various clean energy technologies including solar (passive, solar water, solar air, solar electricity such as PV and other solar technologies such as CSP) wind energy, bioenergy, combined heat and power, geothermal and ground source heat pumps...
