Love this! My son never likes to draw or write and he needs a lot of practice and the moment we go a week or so without it’s starting over in terms of progress. So great tips for helping and love that we do have some of them already but I’ll work on being more diligent in integrating into our day.
My 2 yo is pretty opposite who loves to draw and scribble so much so we bought many notebooks during back to school shopping just for her to have her own stuff. Painting, cutting yarn and writing on my kitchen cabinets, freshly painted walls, dining table and floor are still her favorite though. 😅

These are great ideas, and I love the exercises you included for visual-motor integration. These tips would have helped my son greatly when he was younger. We had a lot of success with Handwriting without Tears. Great video!

Thank you so much for this! Looks like my son is in the transitional stage. He loves for me to help with hand over hand, buts its difficult because he's a lefty and i am right handed. Any suggestions to make it easier?

My daughter has developmental delays. At almost 10, her writing is like a first graders. Her fine motor skills are WAY behind. But she is an advanced reader. The preschool motor skills stuff is too babyish. So we started The Good and the Beautiful handwriting, level 3. The cursive makes it feel less babyish. It's short lessons, and there is always some sort of drawing or maze at the bottom of the page.

Encouraging video. It was a little hard to see what you were writing in the beginning.
