Jewelweed is a wonderful plant to help with Poison Ivy.

I used to just rub sand on skin, which helps stinging nettle, probably won't do much for poison ivy though. I gotta learn how to identify that jewel weed! Definetly a life saver when you need it. For instance, a friend of mine had to relieve himself on a hike in Fallbrook, his sensitive parts got in contact with poison ivy! His family jewels (no pun intended) swelled up to about the size of a cantaloupe! In severe pain he could not even walk for about 3 days! Lol!

You can also split open the stalks and rub the inside portion in the area. This is how I did it growing up

I've always used Virginia creeper which also works for poison oak and mosquito bites

AND! they often grow in the same area! where you see 1 you'll see the other. Hand sanitizer also works great to break down the oils that effect skin

and they usually grow together or near each other too!
