Great video! I've been following this routine to care for my brushes and they still look brand new after weeks of use. I noticed flicking water out of the brush removes a significant amount of water!

Good tutorial. I also use to put new shaving brushes into a bowl of warm water with a bit of soap or shampoo and let it there for half a hour, then rinse it well before first use. This video was very instructive. thanks for sharing

Thank you for the tutorial. I could see that I was doing something similar. And again: you are a MASTER of the shaving.

Thanks to this video I've switched from forcing the brush into the skin to using a much more gentle painting motion which, so far, has kept my current go-to brush in good shape. I've been into oldschool wet shaving for about a decade yet I only realized the other day that my lathering technique was excessively rough when a new brush of mine already showed signs of damage after one use. I guess I had gotten so used to lathering roughly that I didn't even realize I was being rough at all.

How do we treat a brush if we won't use it for a long time? Does it need a special treatment? Thank you.

Sort of an odd ball question, but I have really begun to enjoy cold water shaves. I noticed you said to avoid hot water, is there anything against considerably cold water? I usually have been dunking my shave brushes in a mug of cold water just below the handle to avoid the epoxy/glue getting too wet but the hairs obviously are still getting wet. Is ice cold water just as bad?

Hi Brian would you recommend using the braveheart safety razor after 4 months use of a double edge safety razor. Thanks Tarun

Hi. Not all brushes come with a stand. Is that essential, or can I just stand it up on its end?
