An interesting side note about the Persian language...when the Persians adopted the Arabic script, Arabic didn't have the letter P. So in a bunch of words that previously had the P sound in the Persian language, the P was replaced by an F. Persians later added a P to the Arabic script, but a lot of words still remain with the F replacement. Paradise is a good example. The word for paradise in Farsi is "Fardis". Replace the f with a p and you get "Pardis". Another example is the name of the language. Replace the f with a p and Farsi becomes Parsi, language of Pars (Parsian aka Persian).

A good while back .. during an interview with the Shah of Iran .. (I think it was 60 min. and may have been Leslie Stahl) .. the Shah mentioned to her that Paradise is the Persian word for "Garden" .. it was a landmark moment to hear that so many years ago .. and as a person who grew up with a big Bible influence .. the word connected a lot of dots for me. Before the Bible was ever written .. humanity had only the "Book of Nature" to study .. a book written in 3 dimensions .. full of symbols and instruction. When men write the word "Tree" they are using "symbols" .. but they are not living .. in the "Book of Nature" the tree is living and you can walk around it. The Book of Nature has a lot of examples of gender in bushes, animals of all kinds, male and female flowers, fish, birds, etc. .. I tend to see the City as the "Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil" .. food has to be shipped in .. and most who graduate from City Schools have no experience producing food in the Garden.
