A homeless person can go into an ER and they won't be turned down. My point was the supreme court is corrupt. You can only tax someone for income, property, or sales, NOT for refusing to purchase a product.

These criminals are going to try to force me to pay for healthcare. I can't afford $80 a month for this bs. I barely make 15, 000 per year.

Even if we did shut down Obango Care, the health insurance has already doubled. The insurance companies have already won.

It just means they want to nullify the affordable health care act, as far as I can see. Not a bad question.

How did it ever get enacted in the first place? Why are we providing our elected officials with health care?

Defund it now!!!! Leave our health care system alone....

The issue we both agree on is that there is not a free market. It has never existed in my lifetime. Health insurance companies are greatly restricted with what and who they can offer services to. Maybe I'm using the wrong terminology. I'm trying to say that an open market encourages competition which provides more choices to the consumer which leads to lower prices. Maybe my cousin has a great plan in Colorado but I cannot use that plan because I live in California. This is a closed market.

It's just that when I hear stories of people who are against the Affordable Health Care Act, those same people often are against "defunding" it. So it's a little confusing.
To me, I thought it would be to stop paying for it but it still doesn't make much sense to me.

The US is paying over 18% for healthcare, while in the United Kingdom they are paying only 8%, and Germany's private system they pay only 6%. Switzerland pays less still, and yet they have over three times the number of doctors per citizen. Unless changes are made, the problem is only going to get worse. The U.S. is the only modern nation without a proper healthcare system, and it shows with the massive number of public and private systems all meshed together.

The best thing that could happen is a do-nothing congress. When they do something it almost always hurts us, the people!

Thank you for your reply, my point exactly. The system has become so monopolized that its out of reach to many people myself included. I don't know if its unions or medicine/equipment manufactures, but having too few options results in higher costs as well as manufactures appending premiums for the sake of "we can charge this much because its involving life". Be fair, open market, more options. Simplicity instead of Obamacare. Apply free market economics where high demand = low prices.

i would say the same thing about gasoline taxes which can make up over half of the price that you pay at the pump. currently the reason our healthcare is overpriced is because of uninsured patients and underinsured patients. obamacare is actually aimed at helping fix the issue of overpriced healthcare services.

A robust and strong electorate will demand that Obamacare be defunded! Accept nothing less, citizens. WE THE PEOPLE

The issue is that it HASN'T provided "far more options for the less fortunate"...it has actually done the OPPOSITE. People dying due to lack of coverage; going bankrupt if they get sick; not purchasing healthcare at all and relying on the ER until absolutely necessary (creating HIGHER premiums that we all must pay for, at a MUCH higher rate versus the chance that the person could have had the issue taken care of earlier on, cheaper).

Some would say Republican, some would say libertarian. But the differences in a spectrum of opinion are nearly opposite of the "modern conservative".

So if somebody is homeless and cannot afford it they're out of luck? We as a nation spend more than twice what other countries do on healthcare even before Obamacare and for what? Profit for large greedy corporations? Places with universal healthcare has a government that can get healthcare to everyone and lower taxes while doing so.

I already lost my GI specialist because of Obamacare. It's causing a ripple affect too Medicare. So some doctors are getting away from medicare due to lower income for the doctor.

I completely agree, however every time Obama said "Shut down the government." he was saying "Republicans want to shut down the government."

Come on Heritage, you guys can deliver very effective messages. Don't stoop down to their level and broadcast sound bytes.

The President and Congress cannot exclude themselves from Obamacare because it is not an insurance policy. It is a set of reforms; like insurance companies cannot refuse a person because of a pre-existing condition like they used to. It is not socialism either. People will still have to buy their insurance from competing companies. And there are already millions more insured because of the AHA Act, (like all the ones with pre-existing conditions and kids from 18-26)
