Today we will be studying Item number SCP-787: The Plane That Never Was, Object class: Safe.


SCP-787 is a Boeing 747-200 airliner of unknown manufacturing date and call sign which contains the bodies of 515 deceased individuals, henceforth referred to as SCP-787a. The cause of death varies among specimens, with causes including strangulation, exsanguination, drowning, starvation, bullet wounds, stab wounds and blunt force trauma. Certain mutilations are common throughout SCP-787a specimens regardless of cause of death, including removal of the tongue, scalping, carving of Cyrillic letters into the left palm and removal of fingertips.

All SCP-787a specimens are in advanced stages of decay, but have shown no signs of further putrefaction since recovery.

We don't know how, but Dr Brights recording of 'Hitch Hikers Guide To The Galaxy' was found on board SCP-787.

Wait a minute? They had this plane since 1987 but didn't even consider doing Lav/Water maintenance until 2009? There's a lot no mentioned in this SCP. Questions like, "Does it accept Ground Power? Does Conditioned Air flow through the cabin when applied? Do the engines work? APU installed? Can you Airstart it manually? Etc". The cargo doors are presumed to work either with power or manually, since the bay is mentioned as under surveillance normally but what about the other access/maintenance access points on the plane?

SCP seems to be a time anomaly that has victims from the future. I recommend keeping an eye on identify victims of SCP 787a to test this hypothesis.
