Despite of the profession, each person has a favorite hobby. Someone likes sports, someone reads books, and someone likes to collect antique things. But among them there is a hobby when people are fond of birds.

The people of Samarkand mostly prefer to have birds at home such as quails, partridges, canaries, roosters and so on.

Especially in Samarkand city, Urgut region and in different regions of Samarkand this type of hobby is very popular. The most popular bird from all birds is quail . The beautiful voice of quail fascinates any person.
Sometimes people also organize quail fights.
In one of the neighborhoods of Samarkand, where from four sides it is surrounded with beautiful trees, more than 70 people gather around a Pond every Tuesday.
Each person comes with his quail cage and hangs the cages on the trees. This is a very interesting scene because each quail sings in its own way. When you listen this singing you forget about everything, it makes you calm and your brain relaxes.
All gathered people are in different age and have different professions. Some of them are retired people, some are teachers and some are businessmen.
The gathered people collect money and buy ingredients for pilaf. While pilaf is cooked people enjoy singing quails.
