But let’s get off the Steve Jobs worship train. This is not an original quote. He didn’t invent this quote. It goes back to Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius c. 121 - 180 AD: “Perfection of character is this: to live each day as if it was your last, without frenzy, without apathy and without pretence.”

It was even quoted in the modern form in the movie Breaker Morant from the 1970s. This is not a Steve Jobs original witticism no matter how many people on the Internet want to make it out to be, the concept is correct and his story is fine but let’s stop again the hero worship this is somehow something he came up with
