"The Untold Civil War"

History is not an inanimate subject. It is the story of human beings: what they felt, how they acted, the dreams they nurtured, the emotions through which they passed. In THE UNTOLD CIVIL WAR, Robertson summarizes 132 little incidents in the war. Not one of them affected the outcome of the struggle, but they reveal in different ways the deep and sincere feelings that form the very foundation of the war itself.

Recorded at the Gettysburg National Military Park Museum & Visitor Center in July 2014 as part of the annual Sacred Trust Talks and Book Signings.

His last sentence at the end of the lecture is so true. If we forget or ignore our history we will have no future.

The venom that Montgomery C. Megs had for General Lee is nothing compared with what many Americans feel today for General Lee.
And yet,
when General Lee died the entire nation, North and South, went into mourning on his passing.
Even the men who fought against General Lee morned his passing.
I have research historic events at different libraries around the country.
The last thing I always do, no matter what I am researching, is look at the local newspapers to see what they said on his passing. I have never found any animosity towards General Lee, not until the 21st century.

Far too much editorializing based on the Lost Cause.
