Automation Anywhere tutorial 05 - How to read data from excel Part1| RPA training

This is the fifth video of the Automation Anywhere Tutorial series which covers how to read single cell data from excel in Automation anywhere client.
Learning:

steps to extract single cell data from excel:

1)create variable to store extracted data - $extractedVal$
2)open the spreadsheet
3)extract data
4)put the extracted data inside a variable
5)do something with the data - display data in the message box
6)close the spreadsheet

Conditions:

Active cell - active cell of the excel gets extracted
specific cell - specific cell of the excel gets extracted

Assign to a variable:

1)user defined variable - which we created - $extractedVal$
2)system variable - clipboard variable

clipboard variable- stores the value of system clipboard
system clipboard - temp storage area for data that user wants to copy from one place to another

How to navigate to specific Cell of a column without using go to next cell.


For example: I have extracted data from CSV from different columns and stored all in variable respectively. Also I have taken the total counts of cell values. Now i need to put those count in a different excel in different column.

hi mam, I am facing an issue with AA community edition, the issue is, client get disconnected in every 5 mins, when I save a task it says, session expired, login to control room, even after logging in to control room, it throws the same error, kindly help me out

Hi madam, i have an issue in opening spread sheet. When i am trying to open the spread i found the same spreadsheet is opening twice. with the exception (Exception from HRESULT: 0x800AC472
