Ohio Governor Mike Dewine holds COVID-19 press conference

Ohio Governor Mike DeWine is holding a COVID-19 press conference to address the state's continued response to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

DeWine's press briefing comes amid a recent rise in coronavirus cases across the state.

On Monday, Ohio reported 5,568 new COVID-19 cases, which marked an increase of 1,105 new cases from the previous day, with the Buckeye State also recording more than 9,000 and 8,000 new daily cases as recently as last week.

Last month, DeWine acknowledged that the rise in cases caused by the Delta Variant had put the return of students to the classroom at risk. And while he said he wouldn't be enacting a mandate to do so, he did encourage all unvaccinated individuals in the classroom to wear masks in order to help reduce the spread of COVID-19.

DeWine attended a recent Clippers game in Columbus. He was in a crowded private box and also had a number of his security goons because he's a man of the people. Not one of these hypocrites were wearing a mask.

I am a school board member but as far as i am aware we were not invited to participate on a call or meeting. It would have been very helpful to have been invited. We have a meeting Thursday to make a decision and we have very little information made available directly to us that will help us promote a positive outcome.
