IDBDR Idaho Backcountry Discovery Route Documentary Trailer

The IDBDR is the fifth route developed by the Backcountry Discovery Routes organization for dual-sport and adventure motorcycle travel. The IDBDR is a south-to-north route across the state of Idaho covering over 1,400 miles of mostly non-paved track.

The route begins in the old western town of Jarbidge Nevada and meanders through the west side of the Idaho Rocky Mountains on the way to the Canadian Border at the Idaho Panhandle. Two stunning and historic backroads are part of the IDBDR - the Magruder Corridor and the Lolo Motorway. Several small mountain towns in Idaho are visited along the way including Yellow Pine, Burgdorf Hot Springs, Elk City, Avery, Wallace, and Clark Fork.

My dad and I went to see this film at a Touratech USA sponsored premiere at a Seattle movie theater. And man, this film and adventure to where there are no paved roads ain't for the faint of heart.

Very cool! I have already notched the AZBDR and COBDR. Planning on the UTBDR in May 2015. Hopefully I can do the IDBDR in 2016?

I drove a Chevy Traverse "chase car." The road gets REAL narrow. You know it's a challenge when all the bikers stop to video an especially tight, gullied edge, to see if you screw up and roll down a 1, 000ft of mountain. Meeting another vehicle coming the other way can be a fun challenge. Spectacular eleven days.
