A very nice collection of recent pickups James and I really enjoyed the manner in which you presented them. Looking forward to the next one.

Awesome finds James....and in the wild too! I can see why any sort of 'budget' would be out the window. The Black Renaissance and Cosmic Eye records are going high on the list. Just have to find 'em!!

dude. wtf. one of the best videos I have seen in a long time and probably up there with the best ever. It's like you made this video/chose all these records for me. I was drooling the whole time. Exactly the type of jazz I am into these days. killer pickups. I want that pharaoh! Cool to see the japanese strata label. thanks for showing that. I love that black renaissance record, but I only ever love it on youtube. Monk's dream is my favourite monk record. What the hell is this non sense about hate mail/message?

Black Renn...great score! Love that Jimmy Lyons, Shepp, Byard, Adderley, Monk. Pangea is fab! Don't know that Linda Hill or D'Silva. They look great. Gotta find that 511 Jazz Ensemble. Good showing brother!

Hello JB,
Although I am still discovering new artists thanks mostly to you and other VC jazz collectors I know the ones that are essentials and you picked up a few of them here. How does the Cannonball sound compared to other pressings you have had? I remember Teddy suggesting that one to me in Boston before I had even ten jazz albums in my collection. A classic for sure. >I tell you, Miles discography is endless. I was not familiar with that one until now. Shepp's 'Way Ahead' is another one that I would like to hear. Too many to name in this one. Thanks for sharing them all James. Loved it ~

Damn, fantastic find after fantastic find, of course Black Renaissance, nothing needs to be said. I love that Pharoah. Linda Hill is damn good as well. Haha I just picked up that same Byard LP, so good. That Cosmic Eye is terrific as well, really dig that sound.

Already starts well man, Black Renaissance ! Indeed great artwork. I like that Pharoah but too bad the common US reissue doesn't sound good (crackling and distortion everywhere ...), never seen a Japanese reissue of it, good score ! That BYG looks mint, I never find good deals on those French pressings and yet I'm the country next to France. Don't know that Shepp ! The back cover has a great artwork ... his whole Impulse is sublime. Saw that Byard Lancaster a while ago on Dave Cotter's channel and still on my wantlist indeed. That Miles is a big beast, the 70's were really on fire. King Japanese are even better than the Toshiba ones, great job. MAN, Cosmic Eye is sooo great, thanks to Bigstar1000 for the discovery. If you know more jazz like this I'm ready ! Dark is the word. The Ohio ensemble is on my wantlist as well. Great stuff James, it's been a while since I've watched any vinyl videos but it's good to watch ! :-)

That Byard Lancaster might be just the thing to brighten up my sad jazz library

I recently heard Pangaea for the first time. Not sure how I missed this album since I just love the electric era Miles. Guess what? I'm this far into this video I I don't know Somethin' Else. Of course I know the players though. Awesome finds and video. Take care.

Hi James
I nearly didn't watch this, but I'm glad I did. I mean... what do I know about Jazz?! I actually have that Jimmy Lyons BYG album. My cred-ometer has just gone up to 11!
Thanks for the shout out. That's a really cool pressing of Waves. I actually like seeing beat up copies of albums like that. It shows they got played!
Take care
Kevin
