🔴 What are Intangible Assets?
An intangible asset is an asset that is not physical in nature. Some examples of intangible assets are goodwill, intellectual property (patents, copyrights or trademarks) and brand recognition.

🔴 What areTangible Assets?
A tangible asset holds a finite monetary value and has a physical existence. Tangible assets can mostly be transacted in individual markets in exchange for some monetary value, but the liquidity can vary, according to the market.

🔴 Difference between Intangible assets and Tangible assets

🗣️ An intangible asset does not have a physical existence but it possesses a monetary value. It occupies an important position in the company’s balance sheet, and can shore up its overall valuations in the long term.
🗣️ A tangible asset has a finite value and a physical existence. Tangible assets can typically always be bought or sold in the market for some monetary value, but the liquidity can vary accordingly.

🗣️ An intangible asset does not have a physical existence. It is relatively difficult to trade when compared to a tangible asset.
🗣️ A tangible asset has a physical existence. It is relatively easy to trade when compared to an intangible asset.

🗣️ It is relatively easy to convert intangible assets to cash, compared to tangible assets.
🗣️ It is relatively difficult to convert tangible assets to cash, compared to intangible assets.

🗣️ Intangible assets are valued by comparing their cost with market value, and taking the lesser of the two values. It is harder to determine the value of intangible assets compared to tangible assets.
🗣️ Tangible assets are valued by subtracting the depreciation amount (if applicable) from its cost. It is easier to determine the value of tangible assets compared to intangible assets.

🗣️ It is harder to liquidate and sell an intangible asset in the market since they do not have a physical presence.
🗣️ It is easier to liquidate and sell a tangible asset in the market since they have a physical presence.
