Im so grateful that my school has free lunches for all students. Our school got so much government funding due to how poor our population in my town is that all kids get free lunches

It hurts me so much knowing that there are schools that don't give there students free food when I was at work on Friday I had a customer at the cafe of the hospital that only had cash on her and our hospital only takes cards unfortunately and I felt bad for her so I helped her and payed for her lunch it felt good

During the pandemic, my state/city implemented free school lunches for all students, and kids up to age 18 ride free on city buses. Both are still in effect.
It's the most pro-family legislation I've seen in my lifetime.

This kind of thing irritates me. I am a child free individual and i pay taxes. A part of my taxes goes to the education system that I do not use (and have not used in 16 years). Why are kids going into lunch debt or not being able to eat? Also, on the subject why are not paying teachers their worth so they stay teaching?

I don't understand how anyone would expect a child... A CHILD... to learn on an empty stomach. If they are required to be in a place for 7+ hours a day, they should be supplied with nutritious meals (breakfast and lunch).
Since so many Republicans lean towards the Christian ideation, I like to remind them when the people came to Christ to learn... he fed them.

We had free breakfast/lunch as a program at my elementary school. Not everyone got free food bc some could afford to pay, but anyone who needed free food could just fill out a form at the beginning of the school year and get free food. And anyone who paid for their food but ran out of money mid-year could get free sides (no mains) until their parents reupped their balance. There was also a program for kids whose families couldn't afford food at home. On Fridays they'd get a bag of food for the weekend (snacks, packaged stuff, not a ton but it defo helped).

Kids should be fed in school period. otherwise its not fair. You cant learn well when your body is on starving mode. And also not packing lunch for kids is unaceptable if its actualy not the fault of the parents and they are that poor than thats something a goverment ought to be truly ashamed about. I genuinely cant believe people uave to pay for school food. As a student, i am only 120 pounds, and thats stil not enough calories to get me through the day. I struggle to gain weight, or keep weight because they barely feed us. This isnt enough food for ELEMENTARY SCHOOLERS let alone high schoolers?? A fucking hot pocket and a fruit cup is NOT enough food for us.

My school has 3 options 1 free lunches & breakfast (theres certain qualifications that include no income or very low income) 2 reduced lunches and breakfast (certain qualifications include having only 1 parent) and 3 full price (certain qualifications include having 2 parents that both work) with the reduced option the breakfast alone for an entire school year is 200 dollars and the lunch for an entire school year is about 400 dollars which my school is funded by the government and casinos the government pays my school millions of dollars for attendance of the students my school has a lot of money and if people dont live in the district they pay a tuition fee of 2000 dollars a semester so teh school is getting money from those people as well as the fundraisers they do and they get paid extra money because theyre an A district school and number 3 in the state but number 1 in the district

I love the idea of this, rlly I do, but there are so many underfunded schools in america so if a law was passed to make every schopl give free lunch, those underfunded schools with no money wouldn't be able to afford it. Along with that, pouring so much money into all of these schools (which, idk if you know, but there are a LOT of schools in America) would probably require prices to go up and taxes to be raised to fund all of this. Which would make people mad because in the end you're still paying for it. I wish that we could just snap and let every kid get their own lunch for free, but that would require a lot of financial changes that I'm not sure the government is capable of right now

I support your message but this shouldn’t be political it’s should be a morality issue. Us as the people should work together with our local community and help feed all k-12 kids for free. We don’t need the government to feed the children, we the people should feed our children.

Why are you teaching children about who they should vote for? I know your trying to get free lunch for them, but don’t get children involved.
