If you are planning to visit or maybe even live in the Black Sea area of Bulgaria, then you'll need to do some research into which city will best fit your needs. In this video we will compare Bulgaria's two biggest cities that are on the Black Sea Coast, Burgas and Varna. We'll take a look at the beaches, parks, prices, activities, food, transportation, expat communities, and many other categories to see which of the two cities is better.

The Sunny Beach/Nessebar/Sveti Vlas area is very busy in the summer (in between Burgas and Varna).

The Sea Gardens are especially interesting to me since there is one in Odessa, Ukraine which is also on the Black Sea. They also had a dolphinarium in Odessa.

Nice vlog, but in my opinion you got wrong impressions re both Sea Gardens. The one in Varna is HUGE compared to that in Burgas. Also it is more beautiful and relaxing, a lots of events happen there which you probably didnt have a chance to see. In Varna you have more museums, f.i. in the historical museum one can see the oldest gold treasure in the world ( dated 5th millennium BCE) found in the area. Outside Varna there is a desert named "Pobiti Kamani" (tubular concretions formed around "rising methane-bearing fluid plumes", is a desert-like rock phenomenon). Also 10km away from the city it is located "Aladzha Monastery" ( Medieval cave monastery)....

Another category: golf. Burgas -- 0. Varna has three great courses, including maybe the most beautiful in the world, 30 miles to the north.

VARNA IS THE BEST TOWN ON THE BLACK SEA!

Beach in Varna is better as sand, sand in Burgas is generally black and not fine in the high sun. Sea park in Varna is biggest park in all Balkans, it is really huge. Well Burgas is some cheaper, personally I do prefer compared to Varna, streets are better and infrastructure at all, there is a hightway to Sofia, Varna - not, really I think to buy some property in Burgas ... you dont have to take on mind fast food, there is nothing special - gyros, falafel ... not so big deal.

At the time of communism, Varna was the best city to live in. However, in the last 10-15 years, Burgas has overtaken Varna as a place to live. Burgas has better infrastructure, a better maintained sea garden, better public transport and more - a good sports facility. Burgas municipality has two municipal ships with which you can go to the largest one attraction of Bulgaria - the island of St. Anastasia. You have correctly determined that Burgas is the better city.
