Master The Art Of Bath Scoops! Craft Perfect Bath Tea Scoops!
Показать описание
Today it's all about bath scoops! Scoop recipes have a lot more wet ingredients. For instance, my regular bath bomb recipe has about 20 milliliters of wet ingredients where as a scoop recipe will have 100 milliliters or more. Make any type of bath scoop that you want! Today I'm showing you how to make bath tea scoops- which is bath tea in scoop form. They create a lovely, relaxing bath soak.
This is a very loose or soft recipe, so you don’t have to follow it exactly or even close to get great results. Get dried herbs/flowers ready before you make the recipe. Only use small ones so they don't compromise the integrity of the scoop.
RECIPE {13 medium scoops}: 1 cup baking soda, 1/2 cup citric acid, 1/2 cup dendritic salt, 1/2 cup calamine clay, 1/2 cup coconut milk powder, 1 teaspoon SLSA sodium lauryl sulfoacetate + 75 milliliters carrier oil or melted butter (I used hazelnut oil), 50 milliliters fragrance oil, 20 milliliters polysorbate 80, & 1 teaspoon mica..
NOTES: I normally stay in the 5% fragrance oil range, but this recipe is about 10% of recipe's weight. If you don’t want to add this much, replace the fragrance with carrier oil or melted butter.
DIRECTIONS: Sieve dry ingredients together. Mix wet ingredients separately. Add wet ingredients to dry and thoroughly mix everything together [holds together when squeezed and feels like wet sand]. Add a bit of dried flowers and mix. Fill scooper until full, then pack it, and flatten the bottom. Flip it over and gently pull the lever to release scoop. Scoops break easily at this point. Add embellishments. Dry them 24 hours. After, they'll be hard and sturdy.
PACKAGING: If you add lots of dried herbs, put scoops in a mesh, organza, or tea bag for easy clean up. Package them in a heat shrink bag, a cute cup, or in a single-serving size container.
Even though the water isn't greasy, the tub is! So please be very careful when you're getting out!
COMMON ISSUES 1. Can't get a scoop to form- pack scoop well. 2. Mix isn't holding together to form a scoop OR 3. falling apart after you've successfully scooped some- mix isn't wet enough, has dried out, or butter has cooled; add a bit of wet at a time (melted butter/oil) OR microwave mix to melt butter again. 4. Scoops are sticking & won't come out. Mix is too wet; add a bit of dry until it doesn’t stick. 5. Mix is puffing up/scoops are expanding- too much wet was added or added too quickly. Knead the mix until it's no longer puffy. 6. Scoops just won't form- you may have a faulty scooper or a scooper that's not right for this job!
