Monet with Peter Paul and Mary - Somos el barco

Показать описание
I made this video for Christian (ArtsKris) to acknowledge and thank him for the wonderful artwork that he presents along with his thorough and knowledgeable descriptions; I've learned so much from him. Thank you!
"Somos el barco" is from the album "Peter Paul and Mommy too" (1993). It is basically a children's song that promotes and teaches world unity. We are all a part of each other.
I chose Monet's sailboat and sea paintings to complement this song. Many of Monet's paintings are irrefutably notable in their depiction of sailboats, cliffs and the sea.
Starting with the starkness of black and ending with black, these two images are a contrast to the bright colorful paintings which emphasize where we should be but are often held back by the ravages of mankind that keep us confined to a less than perfect and unified world.
The next to the last image is the "controversial statue given the Finnish by Moscow during the cold war". It, too, represents the strength of the human spirit contrasted with the strength of the powerful.

The images are probably clear enough (for the most part) to be viewed at 720p on a full screen.
Lyrics:
Somos el barco, somos el mar,
Yo navego en ti, tu navegas en mi
We are the boat, we are the sea, I sail in you, you sail in me.
The stream sings it to the river, the river sings it to the sea
The sea sings it to the boat that carries you and me
CHORUS
The boat we are sailing in was built by many hands
And the sea we are sailing on, it touches every land
CHORUS
So with our hopes we set the sails
And face the winds once more
And with our hearts, we chart the waters never sailed before.
CHORUS
