A história acompanha Henry (Ashley Thomas) e Lucky Emory (Deborah Ayorinde), um casal afro-americano que, nos anos 50, decide se mudar com sua pequena família da Carolina do Norte para um bairro totalmente branco de Los Angeles. Eles tentam escapar da segregação racial e da discriminação predominantes no sul dos EUA, onde as leis de Jim Crow ainda vigoravam. The students weren't doing anything. She was doing it without knowing that is why she was sent to the office.

Era uma época muito injusta os adultos fazia tudo errado quem deveria ir a detenção são os outros palhaços, sei e antigo isso mas hoje em dia ainda tem muito preconceito de formas diferentes eu mesmo não concordo algumas coisas mas infelizmente so um cisco no sistema .
