Vivienne Westwood launch two limited edition pairs of Anglomania Vans for Spring-Summer 2018, available exclusively in Japan, combining the iconic Vans Sk8-Hi shoe with Westwood’s Piccadilly Circus print.

Vans Sk8-Hi were created in 1978 and showcased the iconic Vans side stripe, introducing skater functionality with an above the ankle high-top. At that time, Vivienne Westwood was at the forefront of the punk movement in London, selling one-off pieces in her store at 430 Kings Road, then called Seditionaries. Vivienne was experimenting with ‘Do it Yourself- D.I.Y’ designs and using fashion as a platform for political activism. The back wall of the Seditionaries boutique was lined with a blown-up image of London’s Piccadilly Circus taken from a tourist postcard, turned upside down, as a symbol of a rebellion against tradition and challenging the status-quo.

For this collaboration, quintessential design elements from both brands come together to create two iconic pairs of Sk8-Hi shoes for Vans and Westwood followers alike. Available in full colour or greyscale at select Vans and Vivienne Westwood Anglomania stores in Japan, from 24th February 2018.
