Its fantastic seeing my childhood on film. I used to dj at the youthclub opposite the church back in 84 85.. used to live by milton farm which is at top of mill so was our journey to school and village centre. Great pubs in Fairford. The ox pen had birds nest and bats fly in the evenings. Used to ride my grifter bike to Quenington (back road though) .the yearly traction engine rally and summer fetes were our treats in the summer. The church me and my brother sang in church choir. Best complete full original glass windows.

Hello Paul - greetings from Poland
What a beautiful tranquil walk through some beautiful countryside. I thought St Mary's church was lovely as were the Oxpens. I wonder why the path through the door is closed on a Tuesday? What happens on Tuesdays? Very interesting historical facts about Fairford.
Lovely ambient sounds near the stream. Peace and quiet. The walk across the meadows and through the beech was gorgeous.
Quenington was lovely as was St Swithins Church. The waterwheel is a fabulous survivor. I knew about Polish Camps in the UK but wasn't aware that there was one in Fairford. Beautiful still photographs to finish off a most splendid video. Thank you

Once a year we meet Uncle Fred and Aunty Grace who lived in Oxford in Fairford Park they came in their Austin 7, it was about half way from Dursley. Must have been in the 1950/60's

Both Fairford & Quenington were marvelous & it was a great walk between them. You mentioned it had been dry for about 6 weeks before your walk, it was obviously a much dryer April last year.

In answer to your question, the River Coln is primarily a trout river. There is actually a trout farm at Bibury.
