Nordic Cleantech Launch Event: Nordic Clean Maritime Solutions

Japan and Nordic societies are moving towards net-zero carbon emission, and maritime is a key industry for clean innovations for our regions surrounded by the sea and dependent on ocean traffic. The transition for clean maritime does not only rely on cleaner energy sources, but requires innovations across the supply chain from vessel production to harbors to ship operations, new solutions for carbon capture and utilization both on land and sea, and digital solutions to optimize the efficiency of operations throughout the value chain.

This event was held to hear about Nordic solutions and innovations, and exchange thoughts on opportunities for cooperation between Nordics and Japan. The event also marks our Nordic cleantech activities in Japan.

日本と北欧の社会は、CO2排出量のネットゼロを目指しておりますが、海に囲まれ、海上交通に依存している両地域にとって、海運はクリーンイノベーションの鍵となる産業です。クリーンな海運への移行は、よりクリーンなエネルギー源へのシフトのみならず、船舶の製造から港湾、船舶の運航までのサプライチェーン全体でのイノベーション、陸と海の両方でのCO2回収と利用のための新しいソリューション、そしてバリューチェーン全体でのオペレーションの効率を最適化するためのデジタルソリューションが必要です。

当イベントは、北欧のソリューションやイノベーションをご紹介し、両地域の協力機会について意見交換する場として開催されました。また、北欧クリーンテックについて、ノルディックイノベーションハウス東京と、北欧の駐日大使館や貿易振興機構が協働して活動するキックオフイベントとしてのイベントでもありました。
